Saucy Food Prep Experiment

Yesterday morning, I could not sleep, so I decided to cook two large sauce pots (which I had to do anyway), which I will slowly consume over the coming weeks.

I usually make a general-purpose sauce which I can use for:

  • Pizza 🍕
  • Pasta 🍝
  • Pizza Pasta 😋
  • Jollof Rice 🍛

The whole process takes several hours, which predominantly features cutting up:

  • Tomatoes 🍅
  • Green peppers 🫑
  • Spicy peppers 🌶️
  • Carrots 🥕
  • Onions 🧅
  • More spicy peppers 🥵

I usually fry two pots of ground beef 🥩, but this time, I decided to use ground pork 🐖 in one of the pots, as I feared losing the latter to freezer burn (it had been frozen in the freezer for a while 😅).

I also added soy sauce to the pork pot due to a conference between my brain 🧠 & my tongue 👅 (translation: food intuition).

Overall, it turned out to be delicious! I then placed the pork sauce on pasta 🍝 I had cooked earlier (note: I need to make some more pasta!), then I placed shredded sharp cheese 🧀 on top (note 2.0: I need to shred more cheese!)

Overall, I am pleased with how this turned out, & depending on the price point, I will use ground pork again (food is expensive, which is why I meal prep nowadays).
